Professional Automotive Services Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of our automotive repair services and website. Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

By engaging our services or using our website, you ("Customer", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Steer Auto Pro ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") provides automotive repair and related services subject to these terms and applicable law.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Steer Auto Pro. By accessing our services, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understood these terms in their entirety
  • You agree to be bound by these terms and all applicable laws
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
  • You are authorized to make decisions regarding the vehicle(s) in question
  • All information provided is accurate and complete

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services or website.

2. Service Description

Steer Auto Pro provides comprehensive automotive repair and maintenance services including but not limited to:

Repair Services

  • Accident damage repair and bodywork restoration
  • Paintless dent removal and cosmetic repairs
  • Alloy wheel repair and refurbishment
  • Air conditioning servicing and repair
  • Mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Electrical system diagnostics and repair

Additional Services

  • Insurance claim processing and liaison
  • Vehicle collection and delivery
  • Courtesy car provision (subject to availability)
  • Fleet management services
  • Emergency breakdown assistance
  • Vehicle inspection and assessment

Service availability may vary by location. All services are provided by qualified technicians using appropriate tools and genuine or equivalent parts.

3. Customer Responsibilities

As our customer, you agree to:

Information and Documentation

  • Provide accurate vehicle information and service history
  • Present valid identification and vehicle documentation
  • Disclose all known defects, modifications, or previous repairs
  • Provide clear instructions regarding work requirements
  • Supply necessary keys, codes, and access information

Vehicle Condition

  • Ensure vehicle is roadworthy when delivered to us
  • Remove personal items and valuables from the vehicle
  • Ensure adequate fuel level for testing purposes
  • Inform us of any safety concerns or operational issues
  • Maintain valid insurance throughout the service period

Communication and Cooperation

  • Respond promptly to requests for information or decisions
  • Authorize additional work or changes in writing
  • Collect vehicle promptly upon completion notice
  • Report any concerns or issues immediately

4. Pricing and Payment

All pricing and payment terms are subject to the following conditions:

Estimates and Quotes

  • Written estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified
  • Estimates are based on visible damage and initial assessment
  • Additional work discovered during repair may incur extra charges
  • Customer approval is required for work exceeding estimate by more than 10%

Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion unless alternative arrangements are made
  • We accept cash, card payments, bank transfers, and approved credit accounts
  • Outstanding balances may incur interest charges after 30 days
  • We reserve the right to retain vehicles until payment is received
  • All prices include VAT at the current rate

Insurance Claims

  • Insurance excess payments are due before work commencement
  • We will liaise directly with insurance companies where authorized
  • Customer remains liable for any insurance shortfall
  • Additional work not covered by insurance requires separate payment

5. Warranties and Guarantees

We provide comprehensive warranties on our workmanship and materials:

Workmanship Warranty

  • Bodywork and Paint: 5 years against defects in workmanship
  • Mechanical Repairs: 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first
  • Electrical Work: 6 months warranty period
  • Consumables: 90 days or manufacturer warranty, whichever is greater

Warranty Conditions

  • Warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship errors only
  • Normal wear and tear is excluded from warranty coverage
  • Vehicle must be used for normal purposes during warranty period
  • Warranty work must be performed by Steer Auto Pro
  • Original invoice must be presented for warranty claims

Warranty Exclusions

  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, or neglect
  • Modifications or repairs by third parties
  • Damage from extreme weather or environmental factors
  • Stone chips, scratches, or minor impact damage
  • Failure to follow recommended maintenance schedules

6. Limitation of Liability

Important Liability Limitation

Our liability is limited as set out in this section. Please read carefully and seek legal advice if you do not understand any provisions.

General Limitations

  • Total liability is limited to the value of services provided
  • We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses
  • Business interruption losses are specifically excluded
  • Loss of use claims are limited to reasonable hire car costs
  • Pre-existing damage or defects are not covered

Vehicle and Contents

  • Customer responsibility to remove personal items before service
  • Maximum liability for lost items is £100 per incident
  • No liability for items left in vehicle during storage
  • Vehicle security is provided on a best-efforts basis

Legal Exceptions

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other matters where liability cannot be legally limited.

7. Vehicle Care and Storage

During the service period, we will take reasonable care of your vehicle:

Storage and Security

  • Vehicles are stored in secure, monitored premises
  • CCTV surveillance operates in storage areas
  • Access is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Fire detection and prevention systems are installed
  • Regular security patrols are conducted

Vehicle Movement

  • Vehicles may be moved for operational requirements
  • Road testing is performed by qualified technicians
  • Mileage will be recorded and reported
  • Customer authorization required for extended test drives

Extended Storage

  • Vehicles left beyond 30 days may incur storage charges
  • We reserve the right to move vehicles to alternative storage
  • Abandoned vehicles may be disposed of after legal notice period
  • Customer liable for all storage and disposal costs

8. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation terms depend on the stage of service provision:

Customer Cancellation Rights

  • Right to cancel within 14 days of booking (statutory cooling-off period)
  • No cancellation fee if work has not commenced
  • Partial charges apply for work already undertaken
  • Parts ordered specifically for your vehicle are non-refundable
  • Cancellation must be notified in writing

Company Cancellation Rights

  • We may cancel if vehicle condition makes work impossible
  • Cancellation for non-payment or breach of terms
  • Force majeure events preventing service delivery
  • Safety concerns or legal compliance issues

Refund Process

  • Refunds processed within 14 days of approved cancellation
  • Refunds made to original payment method where possible
  • Bank charges for refunds may be deducted
  • Work completed to cancellation date remains chargeable

9. Insurance and Claims

When working with insurance companies, the following terms apply:

Insurance Authorizations

  • Customer must provide valid insurance authorization
  • We will liaise directly with insurers where authorized
  • Customer remains ultimately liable for all charges
  • Additional work requires separate customer approval

Claim Processing

  • We assist with claim documentation and evidence
  • Settlement negotiations are between customer and insurer
  • Payment delays by insurers do not affect customer liability
  • We may require payment pending insurance settlement

Excess and Shortfalls

  • Insurance excess is payable by customer before work starts
  • Customer liable for any insurance settlement shortfall
  • Betterment charges may apply for newer parts/materials
  • VAT registered customers responsible for VAT element

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights are protected:

Company Rights

  • Steer Auto Pro trademarks and logos are protected
  • Website content, images, and design are copyrighted
  • Technical processes and methods are proprietary
  • Customer may not reproduce or distribute our materials

Third-Party Rights

  • Vehicle manufacturer trademarks remain their property
  • Parts suppliers retain rights to their products
  • Software licenses must be respected
  • Customer warrants right to authorize work on vehicle

11. Website Terms

Use of our website is subject to these additional terms:

Acceptable Use

  • Website must be used lawfully and respectfully
  • No attempt to damage or disrupt services
  • No unauthorized access to secure areas
  • Respect for other users and staff

Content and Information

  • Information provided in good faith but not guaranteed
  • Prices and availability subject to change
  • Website may be updated or modified without notice
  • Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only

12. Dispute Resolution

We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and efficiently:

Internal Resolution

  • Initial complaints should be raised with service manager
  • Formal written complaint process available
  • Management review for unresolved issues
  • Independent technical assessment where appropriate

Alternative Dispute Resolution

  • Mediation services available for complex disputes
  • Trade association dispute resolution schemes
  • Consumer ombudsman services where applicable
  • Legal proceedings as last resort

Limitation Periods

  • Complaints must be raised within reasonable time
  • Warranty claims must be made during warranty period
  • Legal proceedings subject to statutory limitation periods
  • Evidence preservation is customer responsibility

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, strikes, pandemics, supply chain disruptions, or other force majeure events.

14. Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. We may terminate immediately for breach of terms, non-payment, or illegal activity. Termination does not affect accrued rights or obligations.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder of the terms continue in effect.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
